Keith and I have lived in the Huntsville area all our lives and when our two sons were old enough we decided to get back into horse ownership.  With 10 acres located on South Waseosa Lake Road just outside of Huntsville we felt the land was perfect and began to partially clear and fence it in to prepare for the arrival of "Ben", a stout Paint gelding.  Soon Ben was followed by the arrival of "Pic",  a rescued Standardbred gelding and one of the gentlest horses you could ever meet!

As my sister in law started riding with me she was soon able to realize a life long dream of her own and purchased "Pic" from me.   I decided to replace Pic with another horse and found "Curly Reno", or "Reno" as we call her, at a local riding stable.  As Reno became more comfortable here we realized just how lucky we were to be able to call her a member of our family.  With her very feminine face and mild nature she soon became my husbands favorite.

In the fall of 2007 I attended an auction and seen one the the saddest sights in my life.  A 15 year old dark bay thoroughbred gelding who was so thin all you could see was his back bone and ribs.  I quickly purchased him and brought him back to  Crooked Creek.  Putting weight and muscle back on "Vegas" has proved to be a challenge but  it's one I intend to see through.  Keep checking back for updates on how Vegas is doing!
